With Windows 8 Development Preview, a new BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) error window has come. This new BSOD is having search hint for the cause of the error as well. For example, when I was installing the Windows 8 developer preview on Virtual Box, the very first BSOD came with the error message as “HAL_INITIALIZATION_FAILED” and the BSOD screen told me to search this error message on search engine. It didn’t say to use Bing or Google, anyway I googled the message. This is the first time when you will get error message in readable format on BSOD window of Microsoft Windows.
New BSOD that I received on Windows 8

Now compare this new BSOD with the Blue Screen of Death on Windows 7, Vista and Windows XP. Here is the screenshot of BSOD on that Windows OS. It is clearly visible that the new BSOD is much better than previous one (anyway, no one wants to see any of that in their OS).

The new BSOD in Windows 8 is also having a nice timer to show you the remaining time in auto restart.
